KernelCare applies Linux kernel security patches directly in memory while the server keeps running. Without it, every kernel vulnerability needs a reboot: a maintenance window, sites down and, usually, postponement; servers stay on a vulnerable kernel for months. With KernelCare the patch arrives automatically, typically within hours of publication, and uptime is not interrupted.

AlmaLinux, Rocky Linux, CloudLinux, CentOS, RHEL, Oracle Linux, Ubuntu, Debian and Amazon Linux on the distribution’s standard kernels; the exact version list is on tuxcare.com. It does not work on custom kernels or in containers that share the host kernel.

No. Imunify360 Unlimited includes reboot-less kernel patching on the same server; the separate KernelCare licence is for servers without Imunify360 (or with ImunifyAV+, which does not include it).

When ordering you enter the IP of your IPHOST server. Once the payment clears, the licence is issued to that IP; you install the agent with the official script (or we do it on request) and the first set of patches is applied right away, with no reboot. Moving it to another server goes through a ticket.

On both, as long as the machine runs its own kernel: KVM VPS (every IPHOST VPS) and dedicated servers yes; containers (OpenVZ, LXC, Docker) no, because they use the host kernel.

Monthly or yearly, in advance, with an invoice issued by IPHOST. A yearly payment costs the same as 11 months (−8%). You pay in euro by bank transfer, card or cryptocurrency; there is no setup fee. You can cancel at any time from the client area, effective next period, with no penalties.
