How VPS Backup Works at IPHOST
How VPS Backup Works at IPHOST
Introduction
The backup service is essential for keeping your data safe. In case of accidental deletion, errors, or cyberattacks, having a recent backup allows you to restore your VPS quickly and avoid data loss.
How IPHOST VPS Backup Works
For VPS and VDS servers, IPHOST offers the Professional Backup addon — a daily incremental backup solution that covers your entire server (files, databases, and emails).
- Backups run automatically every day between 00:00 and 06:00.
- Copies are kept for at least 5 days, typically up to 30 days.
- Includes 150 GB of external storage.
- Type: Incremental, meaning only the changes since the last backup are saved.
How to Activate the Professional Backup Option
If you didn’t enable backups when ordering your VPS, you can add it later at any time:
- Log in to your IPHOST client area.
- Go to My Services.
- Select your VPS.
- Click Add addon and choose Professional Backup.
- Complete the payment.
Once activated, backups will start automatically every night.
How to Restore from a Backup
If your VPS already has Professional Backup enabled, you can restore data in two ways:
- Manually, using the backup interface in your client panel.
- By opening a ticket to the Support Department if you prefer our team to handle the restoration or check available backup dates.
Useful Notes
- Backups are not included by default with VPS packages — they must be purchased separately.
- We strongly recommend activating the backup service to protect your data.
- For questions about storage or restoration, feel free to contact IPHOST Support.
